Default Fuel Line Repair

<center><img src="http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f322/hannetteun/leak.jpg"></center><p>
I noticed a dark spot on the ground when I moved my car this morning which turned out to be gas.
It appears that one of my lines got hit by something and is now leaking fuel everytime I start the car. The line is one of three and is located next to the curved control arm on the -passenger side.

I used a picture from audipages, mine looks different because it's a 99 but it is similar. I have three lines and it is closer to the curved control arm.

Does anybody know if this line is connected in sections or I will have to replace the entire line?

Default Unfortunately all 3 lines are a single part number.......

However, you may be able to repair the damaged section of line (depending on which line it is- if it is the high pressure supply line, it will be more difficult). It'll be a PIA, however. Bummer.

Thanks for the info Ski. Would anyone happen to have that part number?

can you cut the leak area and use compression fitting to connect the two line together?

Default Ummmm I don't, but it's was something like $900 for the set a few years ago

I would personally try fixing it with some rubber lines and double hose clamps. If it works for the high pressure line at the fuel rail, it should work on that part. Just make sure it has some flex in the lines and is properly secured. You could do it for about $20 yourself or if you get the fuel lines, it would be over $1000 and I think you would need a lift and it would take A LONG time or pay somebody $500 to do it for you.

I was thinking of clamping it also. Right now I have silicone over it. Thanks Paul.

Default Not uncommon on UrS cars to leak due to corrosion. I assume as we age we will suffer a...

similar fate. Fortunately many UrS boys have paved the way and documented their approach to either a fix or preventative maintenance. The link is for a repair using braided stainless line. Fred Munro wrote up a preventative maintenance procedure. Searh the UrS forum for that.
