Fuel system/cat cleaners - BS or OK?
Someone brought Cataclean to my attention. He said it really helped his engine to perform better. However, this guy is a bit of a sceptic. (I have to say the cat cleaning bit is a bit beyond me too, but maybe I'm missing the point?)
I have used Wynns Injector Cleaner from time to time in my cars, though not to cure, but more as a precaution. So I can't really say whether it's actually useful.
Any opinions on this subject you want to share?

They *say* it's removing carbon deposits from its surface
But I'm wondering IF and HOW...?
The injector cleaner I can grasp, and Wynns is a reputable company. This is relatively unknown, therefore I have my doubts about this.

Most feuel system cleaners are BS
Unless it is used in conjubtion with a pressurized cleaning system, its useless. The only thing those cleaners do is break up water in you gas if you get contaminated gas. Our gas cleaner is added in a final step in a 3 step process to ensure we get what ever is not cleaned in the first two steps. Our cleaner comes in metal cans, and we have to be careful with it because it will eat paint. Most stuff you buy at parts stores are nothing more than an alcohol mixture.
Now cat cleaners would even be more of a waste, IMHO. Only reasons cats get damaged is the engine starts running a little rich. The exrta gas overheats the catalyst inside and starts coming apart. I think if something coats the cat, it will damage it instead of cleaning it. Again, JMHO.

Chevron fuel injector cleaner (Techron) fixed my misfiring cylinder problem. (Twice!)
We looked at all the electrical stuff , replaced the sparkplug. Problem didn't go away until I ran a tank of fuel injector cleaner. The problem came back once: fuel injector cleaner made it disappear for ever in 5 minutes of driving. Problem occurred after letting the level in the gas tank come too low -> filled up the tank late at night-> drove home 2 miles -> problem occured the next morning when starting the engine.
