It doesn't work in the car. In my neighborhood there is a cop hiding all the time and I tried very close to him. As soon as I rolled the window down, it went to full signal. I have the center heating vent removed from my dash. It has one light bulb for illumination and a flexible glass tube ( I guess that's how you call it ) transfers the light to the symbols. I will do some tests, maybe it will transfer the radar signal into the cabin. If it works, I think I will drill another hole on my roof.

...my antenna works fine indoors...I have the solar sunroof and the power shade, so I'm kinda assuming I have the solar glass too...

twiddly mounting bits, such as a self adhesive base thing. It's got a lever action suction cup so un/mounting is a doddle.
