One of my patients is a master mechanic and is going to play teacher at his shop for me. He will have all the standard tools for american cars but anything unique to the audi I will have to bring. Should be fun and the job should be done correctly the first time. Also going to change the oil thinking about switching over to mobile 1 any problems with switching at 100K? and how much Oil do I need to buy?
Thanks

the Harbor Freight Brake Caliper Tool, it rotates the piston as it pushes it back into the caliper (discussed in detail in the audipages procedures). You can also rent it from places like Autozone.

No problem switching to Mobil 1 at 100k miles, I use 0w-40, and you'll need 8 qt.

of Mobile 1 (green label) which is cheapest at Sams Club or Costco. audipages describes 8 qts coming out, putting 7 back in :-). Mine took around 8 qts (of course?!). Fill it up with 7.5 qts first, then add a cup or so, measure with the dip stick to check the oil level, repeat. Hey, your master mechanic would know how to do that right?! Have fun with the job!

Less dust than OEM. Hold a lot better on the track than OEM.
Please send me an email when you know more details about your trip.

Access to the rear springs is very tight.
For the front coilovers, the procedure for the A4 in the tech section pretty much works. I didn't need to remove any control arms in doing mine.
