Going in for MMI upgrade...

My dealer called me today to say that I can bring in my A8 tomorrow to activate the phone book integration with the MMI. He said that they might need it for the whole day 'cus they've never done it B4 (nice).

from the V60 because they had to add a circuit board and there wasn't anymore capacity (huh?). My Audi Advocate told me all of this and I said that my dealer said that he could do the upgrade/update and that he had seen it B4 during his training. Regardless, I'm bringing it in tomorrow and I'll post the results. Someone is misinformed. Hopefully it's AoA

My dealer, who initially insisted there were no problems with using the phone in the new A8L, called me back and admitted that there could be no phone/MMI integration at this time. The only way the phone can operate now is via Onstar, and that is analog (basically obsolete). I personally spoke with an Audi customer relations rep. today, and was told that full phone/MMI integration as well as satellite radio capability will be available by December. Merry Christmas!

Actually there are two ways to use the current phone setup. If the V60 is inserted and you dial on the keypad you are using your regular service provider (AT&T, Verizon, Cingular etc...), which is what I am currently doing. If the V60 is not snapped in you can use the Onstar phone which is an entirely different phone number.

Manager regarding the phone integration issue. He didn't want me to leave my car for a day until he was sure that there was some type of fix/upgrade/update to do to the car. I should hopefully know more by the end of the day.
