much carry a 2 ton jack, jackstands, wheel blocks, extra oil, extra coolant, a full socket set, a tire pump, gloves, and extra light bulbs!
Hey, my car is old and I sure as hell would not wait for AAA if I didn't have to!
I do still have my OEM aluminum jack, but I only use it to get the car high enough for the 2 ton in a case of a flat.

Recall is well over due by 10 years
I just sent Audi a copy of the link to this so lets see if they give a toss about their customers getting squashed.
I will post any reply

give a rat's a$$ about it. I've stated before that it will likely require someone being injured by one of these woefully underengineered jacks to get Audi to do something about it. For commercial applications, the engineering standard for safety margin on structural handling equipment is either 4X or 6X rated load- these things aren't even good for 1X!!

I am on the phone with Audi Right now. They claim it is not a problem and that there is not enough documentation to do anything about it but they can get the local dealer to sell me one.
What joke. I love this car. It is an amazing machine built by a terrible company. I will never Audi again.

This has been my mo of late when doing any kind of swap with a cheap jack. I usually place it under the front edge of the passenger's cabin while putting the new tire on, start all the bolts and get them snug, then pull "safety " tire out, lower car and final torque bolts.
Mangled rim is still cheaper than mangled me.
