Default Lots of cuts in each tread block.

Compare this heavily siped winter tire to a summer only tire.

Default Thanks. I can't imagine doing something that drastic in modifying

the design of a tire beyond what a tire manufacturer would do based on significant research and testing for various road conditions. That seems like taking one's life in their own hands with such an important component of driving performance and safety. I think tires are critical and always replace them long before conventional wisdom says to.

Default I heard depends on tires and condition.

You need to drive to a place and see if the tires are sipeable. I have seen people couldn't get theirs siped because of certain tire type and condition of the tire.
