After lurking on this forum for a while I got myself a black on black '99 4.2 with fairly dark original tinted glass (actually it's anthracite on black I guess, but that doesn't sound quite as nice...). Dutch specifications, 200Kkm. It's pretty close to mint. Cruise control and driver's headrest need attention (already downloaded Paul's instructions to repair the headrest), antenna needs replacing (non-original antenna and lousy phone reception - is there anything else I can do?) and it needs an alignment.

Will try to post pictures and option codes one of these days.

Wonderful car. It reminds me of the Porsche 928 I used to drive a couple of years ago, with much more interior space and all-weather capabilities obviously.

99s generally have a metallic layer sandwiched into the windshield to decrease solar gain. If your windshield is tired, you can replace that one for $700, or get a regular windshield for $180 that will not inhibit cel transmission the way the OEM glass does.

I use a Treo for a cel phone, with no external antenna or amplification, and it regularly dropped calls before. It hasn't happened once since I swapped glass.
