It works great on minor (not too deep) surface scratches. If scratch is deep enough to show the metal or chipped or paint is gone, GS-27 won't do much. It's great on removing finger nail scratches and minor scratches.

GS-27 was not impressive to me at all.
If I were you, if the paint and clearcoat are scratched I would do the following:
1. wetsand the scratch area, use a handblock
2. clean the scratches with thinner or acetone
3. Polish the area with 3M Fine-Cut Rubbing compound using a high speed buffing wheel. Do the smallest area possible, just to get the scratched parts.
4. Repeat #3 after inspecting it again, you may need more pressure, but don't burn the paint.
5. If scratches remain, fill the scratches with clearcoat touchup or paint, depending on the scratch depth.
6. Allow to dry overnight if possible.
7. wetsand lightly, use detailer spray, not water
8. polish by hand with Klasse All In One
9. Apply wax, unless it appears further work is needed or would be beneficial.
10. Before doing more work, apply a coat of Turtle Wax's "Body Color" wax (blue/black/red/green etc) - it works wonders as a cheap trick.
By all means, if the scratches aren't that bad, avoid repainting at any cost if the paint is original.
I've done the above a number of times, and the scratch is virtually invisible, except on close inspection.
If you don't have Klasse All In One, order some or buy it locally, but by all means get some. It is the best, most versatile product you can own. I've been using it for 15+ years and have tried about everything since - nothing matches it. Requires a coat of wax after application to maintain the shine.
Good Luck!
