Guess I don't need an iPod input on my S8
Just bought a 2GB SD card.....dragged some MP3's onto it.....plugged the card into the RNS-E.....go to CD menu, choose MP3, and all the songs are there! Put them in a few folders, and you can just go to a folder and play what you want......
Like a built in iPod, just bring your 2 or 4GB card.....and there are two slots!
Very, very cool.

It limits at like 400 some songs per card.
The easy way to do the iPod input is to get the TV adapter. That way you can also plug in a portable DVD player or watch video from your iPod.

No, you would need to retrofit a RNS-E navigation system
Here's a picture of one....

Paul - What about DVD?
Can you burn mp3's on a DVD and play it? That's 4.7 GB of music. Also can you play DVD movies on this unit?
I am thinking of this upgrade but no DVD playback would be a deal-breaker.

The DVD is for the map disc.....I don't know if you can use it for music
I would never.....4 or 8 gb of music on two flash cards is fine for me.

agreed, but
you can't use the hd cards, and there is a limit of 512 items in the disc structure. and shuffle doesn't seem to work (at least in my install). otherwise great being able to browse songs, and the sound quality is great!
i find i still use the ipod just for the shuffle feature, and podcasts...
