H Sport Sway Bars for the A8!

H Sport Sway Bars for the A8!
I spoke to Mark Hotchkis at H-Sport this afternoon.
I told him that the A8/S8 community is high and dry when it comes to sway bars.
He said they will look at it and most likely make a set of sway bar (front and rear) for us!!!
This is what they need:
1. I will send them a rear sway bar (I threw mine out and JimR has offered to send his in) for reverse engineering.
2. They will buy a new front sway bar from Audi for reverse engineering.
3. <b>This is where we need help</b>. They need somebody with an A8/S8 to come by their shop in Santa Fe Springs, CA (near L.A.) for about an hour or so so they can look at the mounting configuration, take some pictures and ensure they can make one that fits.
Can somebody do that? If so, please <a href="mailto:mhotchkis@h-sport.com">email Mark</a> and set up a date. It won't cost you anything.
I know Luiz wants a set soon for a hill climb race, this will be a lot cheaper than doing a one off custom rear sway bar, you can get a set for about $380 (that's the price of the A6 set), I want a set, I'm sure Randy would be in for one, and Airbill would want one. BTW, this will probably be the single best/cheapest suspension upgrade that you can do.
Once we put a few on and post a procedure, I'm sure others will want them too.
So any volunteers? L.A. is too far of a drive for me!!! ;-)

I want to get about 150% stiffness over the S8 20mm bar, and about the same on the front which is 28mm.
That's what I wrote in the email to Mark at H-Sport. I asked him what he thought. I provided Randy's numbers to him.
I drove in carbonLORD's A6 4.2 with H&R suspension and H-Sport sway bars front and rear and it was totally on a rail!
From a stop sign, he took a 90 degree right and gunned it and you could really notice a difference in the lack of body roll.
With his H&R's, he says he can break the rear end loose in certain situation...but can't remember when that was.
I wouldn't mind that, you just have to get use to it when driving near the limit. On track weekends, I'm giving it all sorts of opposite input by the second day.

Something to consider.
If these are going to be adjustable sway bars, I've never had an adjustable rear bar that re-used the stock endlinks that didn't have clearance problems. The only ones that've worked properly and cleared the entire range of suspension movement on all adjustments have been bars with custom adjustable endlinks.
Usually the problem has been the 'full stiff' holes bringing the bar too close to the half shaft at full droop. But I have a very steep driveway that really puts this to the test.
Might not be an issue on the A8/S8, but something to think about.

Paul, are you sure you want F & R to be proportionally stiffer?
I'd leave it up to Marc to dial it in correctly , but if you want to move toward oversteer (I don't think you can actually get a quattro Audi to actually have oversteer tendencies, BTW), the new rear will need to be much stiffer than the new front.
I forget the exact %'s, but the H-Sport A6 fitment is something like 65% stiffer in the front and 98-132% stiffer in the rear.
