Default Has anyone done a complete respray on their A8?

I think I've found a nice A8 locally. It's a 2000 SWB A8 and the interior is great, has every option I want, plus a few. The current owner has maintenance records since it was new, including a new transmission 6 months ago.

The only thing I'm not crazy about is the color. It's pearl white.

Looking back on the A8s, there aren't too many colors that really get me going (save for the Avus Silver and Ming Blue.) For the equivalent car in those colors, I'm looking to pay 3 times as much for the car.

The colors I'm considering are the Avus Silver, Nimbus Grey, possibly Aviator Grey. Has anyone had an A8 painted in the last 2 colors?

Default Unless you've found a white 2000 A8 for less then $5K your numbers are way off

Wait till you find the car you want at the price you want. Colour (color for you American's) does not weigh that heavily into price.

Default I resprayed in Porsche Seal Grey

You can take a look at the pictures contained in my user name. Best of luck, rear window reveal is a pain in the ***, otherwise anything is doable.

Default Ironically, the pearl was a $3K option....

at least it was on my '97. the wife had to have that color, I hated it...too much yellow in it.

Default $4,750, light body damage and broken taillight.

The car is being sold by the owner's husband, apparently she wants a Q7 now. Looks like she'd misjudged the length of the car, front and rear. I think getting a Q7 is probably not going to solve the 'parking issue,' perhaps a Honda Fit is in order. The bumpers need a little work but it's not too big of a deal. Taillight was punched out from a mailbox accident.

I have access to a paint booth and used to prep and paint cars a few years ago. I still have the tools, but I just need to replace one of my guns. Only thing I need to pay for is material to fix bumpers (a little plastic welding might be in order) and the paint itself.

Should cost no more than $500 unless I need to replace seals on the windows.

And yes, the pearl paint is way too yellow for me. If it had a little more blue, I'd love it.

That looks great! It's steering me towards Nimbus.
