has anyone here replaced a headliner?
My new car needs one, I think because of the heat in Fla and a really bad repair in the back.
I was able to remove the one from my other car last night intact. Interesting because the Bentley says no can do, "cut up into 100mm sections to remove".
The problem is, I can't really see how I install into the other car because of the size. I didn't try too long on the removal and just wound up going out the back window which was removed.
Is that the way a shop would do it?

Not on a D2 but yes on a Type 44. The 5K is an entirely different beast but...
I managed with the front seats fully reclined. The tricky(est) part was not getting the adhesive gooped on everything.
Sorry I am not of more help,

Officially, it goes out through the front passenger door.....
You will want to tip the front seats all the way back.
Incidently the bentley manual talks about cutting into strips to prevent damage to the roof on cars without sunroofs. The center of the roof lining is glued in a triangle shape to the roof. If you have no sunroof and you pull too hard you may ripple the roof itself.
If you have a sunroof though it doesnt matter as the headlining is stuck to that, not the exterior roof.
Note also that the glue wears over time, so older cars are much easier to remove the headlining that newer ones....
