I recently purchase a 97' A8 4.2 L with ~111,000 miles. I am unsure if the timing belt has been replaced. I purchased the car from a used dealer who bought the car as a trade-in from an Audi dealer. I did a carfax on the vehicle and timing belt work was not listed. Is there a way to determine if this has been done? I do not want to do this $1000.00 job if it is not necessary. Please advise.
