Headlight Fault Code

Headlight Fault Code
I had a fault code for the automatic leveling sensor. I put on in, located on the passenger B pillar, and it seemed ok. Local indy shop reset the codes and couild not make it come back on. I almost made it home and then the code came on again. Shop said intermitent electrical problem tould to track down.
Anybody else seeing this? It is a 2001 A-8 with 116,000.

Yep, I just replaced both my front and rear headlight adjustment sensors. There is one on both the front and rear suspension on the left side of the car. Each sensor costs $70 and the cheapest place I could find them are from GenuineAudiParts.com out of California(otherwise known as Mirimar VW/Audi).
The part number is 4B0 907 503 and the cause of failure is water intrusion getting past the seal and causing corrosion inside. The best way to keep them from failing again is to spray a little teflon lube of some kind on the seals each time you're under the car to do an oil change. It keeps the seals from dry rotting and letting contaminates in.
