Headlight height adjustment and door mirror motor control... linked?
Hi All
Since getting my car back from the Indy following its oil cooler coolant fix, the headlight auto height adjustment has not worked. The warning bleep and a picture of the fault appearing in the instrument cluster display too, every time you start the car and select a gear. I've questioned the Indy, who says that they did take the front of the car off, as they find it easier to carry out the oil cooler fix that way, but have checked all the connections have been replaced ok and say it can't be anything to do with them.
Anyway, I've also noticed (after the wife had my car for the day, it's probably all her fault of course) that the door mirror adjustment is not working either. Nothing on either mirror, nor the folding function nor the nearside mirror lowering when in reverse gear for parking. Any thoughts anyone as to the cause. Maybe the two problems are connected, shared fuse or something? I'm afraid I don't have VAG-COM or a Bentley guide to even check where the fuses or wiring routes are.
Any help would be great guys.

Just checked all the fuses in the footwell, and they are all ok.
It looks like the headlight adjustment fuse is grouped with a few other systems too, and they are working ok. Mmmm maybe a wiring fault or some fancy control unit somewhere

Without the ability to retrieve codes, I'd check...
- that the connectors are really plugged all the way into the headlights,
- that there is no damage inside the plugs into the headlight units, for example pins which are bent or pushed back in the housings, and
- if they also did some suspension work, that the front and rear height sensor linkages are still clipped to whatever they connect to (a left control arm in the front, don't know in the back).
