Has anyone replaced the front headrests on their S8 with rear headrests? Can this be done? Having my car for a few weeks, I've noticed the rears tilt farther forward than the fronts and support the neck and head, unlike the fronts. Any comments appreciated.

I'm not trying to be an *** but why don't you try swapping the headrests on your own? What do you need from the forum for on this one...? Simply remove one of the rears and see if it will fit on the front headrest's mounting spot.

which is neither easy or short term. You can't just pull/push the headrest in/out. I'm a total novice and after 30 minutes of trying to get one the rear headrests to go down (ultimately due to a power motor problem) I had to take it to the dealer.
As for the negative comment...hey we're not equally capable, competent, experienced, or confident. I've found this user-group to be much more understanding than the above comment.

Jeez, ask a benign question, leave town for a few days and come back to a flaming post questioning my intelligence. 2 things: (1) Thanks for the defense, and (2) I never got an answer to my question as to whether anyone has noticed the difference in headreasts and attempted to switch out the fronts either themselves or by a dealer. I'll run this question by my local dealer in Bellevue and will probably get an expensive answer.
