Default Hello

Hi Everyone. Just signed up !
I have just purchased a 01 A8L

I have a few bugs I need some help with.

1) My dome light, map lights, vanity mirror lights all work once in a while. Usually when i first start up the car, then they wont work at all. Is this a relay problem? or a module ? Can anyone tell me which relay it is that controls these so i can test it? I ordered the bentley manual but it isnt in yet.

2) Im also picking up 0 satellites on my nav.

Heres a pic from the dealership day i picked it up.

I would wait for the Bently to arrive, and print out the wiring diagrams....it's an electrical problem, so you can track it down no problem if you know how electricity/multimeters work.

For your Nav, sounds like you have an open circuit between your antenna and the unit in the trunk. Either visually inspect it or get vag-com and pull the codes, it basically tells you exactly what the problem is.

Default Congratulations and welcome!

I sure somebody will chime in shortly regarding your electrical problem. Nice work ordering the Bentley, now for your next mission, you should procure VAG-COM. This way, you can read the codes when they come up and use the Bentley in conjunction to fix your car. :-)

VAG-COM

Default You need vag-com for the Nav unit

A generic scanner will pull engine and transmission codes, won't pull all the other modules.

Getting the Bently and a quality cable from ross-tech (I would get one with dongle feature) is the best investment you can make.

Good luck!
