Default Hello...I have an 00 A6 4.2 with a trans clunk issue, and I was told that you guys...

are the ones to talk to Trans clunk occurs when coming to a full stop. Car will jerk if I keep the brake pedal fully depressed, so I usually lift my foot slightly to avoid the "jerk." I searched your forum archive, but my results were inconclusive. It was hinted to me that the valve body may be the issue, but I don't want to jump to any conclusions. Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated Sorry to bug you guys about this!

Default I would put a bottle of LubeGuard in it to free up valves in the VB.

Default Have you used this before? I'll def. try it, since it is not very expensive. Any idea..

how long it might take to tell if it worked? I would assume that it has to circulate through the trans a few times....

Default I use it every time I rebuild a tranny.

A few forum members put it in their tranny with positive results. It will take a few hours to fully mix with your tranny fluid.

Default Ok. I'll pick up a bottle and tell you how it works. BTW, just so I don't screw...

this up...what is the total ATF capacity of the system? It says 1oz per quart, and I don't want to mess up that ratio...

Default is that something a DIY-er can do with minimal tools/experience? or is it a shop job?

is there a write up on it by any chance (i dont fancy myself overly mechanically inclined)

Default That might not be a hardware issue. Do a search under my name (I'll look too)

there's a reset you can do with vag-com which has solved this on both of my 2000's. Exact same symptom you describe.

Default Read the trans fluid procedure at Audipages (A8 line in my sig).

Ask questions once you've read that.

DO NOT open the fill plug with the engine off, or you'll have a big puddle on the floor.
