Oh sorry to be clear I am sure the fan support bearing was not replaced but along with the TB service parts I also provide the mechanic with the serp belt + related tensioner and idler pulley, so I am trusting they were all done. Didn't know about the fan support bearing being a good thing to service WYAIT on the TB service so I missed that.

Giving everything another look, found coolant level at "min."

First thing I had checked when it started running hot was coolant level. Checked several times, was always halfway between "min" and "max."

Had only checked it at temp, never cold.

Cold, coolant was at "min."

Topped it up to "max" and, so far, two days now, 95F+ out and temp needle holding steady at normal, even when parked with max A/C.

Never had a car run hot as long as coolant was between "min" and "max" when cold but I guess "min" on these cars is pushing it on the very hot days?

Was considering returning the new fan clutch but I'll keep it on my desk as a reminder to always double check the obvious first.

Updated my message above with some detail about testing the fan clutch.
