I've been lucky so far. Swapped out the four-tip Bosch platinum (which were old) with some Autolites from Autozone. First tim I had to manually gap a plug(!) ... seems to be working OK.
I didn't realize the four-tip were OEM/required.

You were right about fuel filter. I changed it but no difference. As regards spark plugs, the problem was there before I changed plugs and not fixed afterwards. The plugs are a four electrode type by Bosch, haven't got plug no. to hand. Looks like I need to do more investigation.

Actually had this problem on my UK spec. All it was, was a dodgy Ignition/ coil pack lead. The car hesitated at low revs and was diagnosed as a dodgy tranny and also ended up changing TB and coil pack (V6 ACK single type). Try it you may be surprised.

Khuram,
Thanks for advice. I removed leads from top of plugs, cleaned contacts with WD40 and replaced. Initial indications are that problem is cured. Looks like it is a lead problem, and a few more miles will tell. Thanks again.
