hewbie here
so excited to be in this group with all this knowledge. 1st can anyone tell me exactly what i need to buy from vag com i have a 2000 A8 with 120k. last 70k used by some company as fleet car. my only issue is the chk engine light came on after a month. is there a way of clearing without vag com ? thanks in advance for the help

If you have 3 cold starts with no problems it will reset itself.
I would buy either one of these two, they will work on the D3 as well:
