Default hey all

Been awhile since I've been here.

Two Things:
1. How much time and technical know-how is required to replace a voltage stabilizer? Only thing I've ever done with and alternator is a replacement on my '85 4kq. Honestly it's the serpentine belt that intimidates me.

2. Opinions on summer rims/tires.

Paul is right,piece of cake.

Look in my pictureposter and you'll see the size and direction to turn the belt tensioner.

Default There is a 17mm tensioner bolt on teh front of the car,

turn that clockwise and the serpentine belt will relax enough to pull off the alternator pully.

On early d2s, three bolts holds the alternator on. easily got at from the front.

Not hard at all.

Thanks. But does anyone know the exact number of turns to re-tension it properly?

Default There is just a spring in it, it re-tensions automatically

1/2 turn to de-tension it via cam action, release the 1/2 turn, it tensions again.
