Highway Mileage from Last Week
#12
My MR2 Spyder does 3000 rpm @ 60 mph
In the city, the spider does 32 mpg.
On the hwy, spider does about 32 mpg thanks to the high rpm.
So I like to use the A8L for highway as I get about 27 to 31 depending on how flat the highway is. Around town, I drive my go cart.

Trip computer said 22.2mpg average when I got back...
to MN from PA, but I have no idea how accurate it is. That includes some slow side streets and mountainous hills in PA, several hours of 75-80mph overnight cruising, and about a million $0.80 toll booths in Chicago.
(Are you seriously stopping me for $0.80?!?!?)

Same mileage here in the S6
I drove my new-to-me S6 from Detroit to DC to Denver in June and tracked the mileage mathematically. The best mileage was through Kansas - 22mpg. The rest was 21.5mpg. All done cruising at 75, AC on, car loaded with some luggage, roadtrip food & drink, and 5 pieplate wheels.
Driving in Denver, including trips to the inlaws (they live at ~7800ft, Denver is 5280ft of course), the computer is reporting 19.8mpg, which I found to be very accurate on the cross-country trip.
The feel-good-factor is that the 2.8 A6 doesn't do any better (worse in fact) in mixed/city driving. It has pulled 27mpg on the highway though, once.
