I just got a 2000 A8L today and I was under the impression that it would come with a standard homelink transmitter in the driver sun visor.
Mine doesn't have that. Was that an option (on a $70,000 car?) or do I just have a weird car?
I have the Xenons and the solar sunroof, but these were separate options accoring to the listing here on Audiworld. They listed the homelink as a standard feature.
I would appreciate any enlightment you'd have to offer. If it wasn't a standard feature, what would it take to add that now?
Thanks for your help! The A8 forum is awsome.

due to a supplier shortage.
The convenience package that included the listed Homelink was on the window sticker!
I ended up ordering a new visor from my dealer and installing it myself. It's easy to find the small wire and plug it into the visor. Takes 15 minutes at best.
Cost was over $200 though and I did not try to have Audi pick up the tab.
Make sure you get the right interior color if your going to order the visor.

my understanding as well (ran out). I couldn't find the visor for less than $350 so I installed the dash switch and hardwired it to a remote which works just fine. A little bit of a project but it's an option...
