How do I smooth out the ride of my S8?

I know this is going in the opposite direction that most folks inquire about on this board, but living in NYC, I'm not pleased with the ride quality when the roads get rough. I've had more than one passanger complain about how stiff the ride is. I find myself driving my S8 slower than my previous A8 on city roads. I like the look of the S8 at it's current ride height however, is it possible to keep the same ride height but improve the ride quality? Don't get me wrong, I love the way the S8 handles, but I only get to enjoy that when I'm driving along and don't have the wife screaming to slow down!

I will put my stock shocks and struts back on the PW8 and send it to you to enjoy! I keep the S8.
Unless you want to put stock shocks and struts on it (a lot of people probably have them laying around), I think you'll have to grin and bear it.
If you do go that route, you could sell your S8 parts in a heart beat!
What tires are you running? If you're not running all season tires, a simple solution would be to get a set of stock 17" forged 5 spoke A8 wheels and put on some regular old all seasons on it. My suspension feels totally different with those on it versus my summer wheels/tires. They are like rocks once it gets below 65F.

I'm running stock S8 rims with conti extreme contact tires. If I was going to run A8 shocks and struts I would have to change the springs as well? Then I would be at the A8 ride height which doesn't look as "cool". Same applies for changing the rims, you loose the "cool" factor. I guess I'll learn to live with it, if there's no way to remain "cool" and enjoy a smoother ride. Maybe I should move out of the city, to a town with smoother roads. That will solve the problem too, wouldn't it

but this would require a careful inspection of the parts catalogue - i would suggest the damper optons of the a8, as long as you can find one with the right ride height.
alternatively an external supplier would be able to help.
or you could complain about the state of the roads!

to the stiff ride. I have them on my SL and had to increase the pressure to over 40 psi in order to keep them from flat spotting. They are a lot stiffer than all seasons.

they can make a huge difference. This TireRack owner surver of High Performance A/S tires indicates that the Pirelli PZero Nero would be the best choice for ride comfort

High Performance A/S Tires

After an aggressive driving session this weekend (alone no passangers) I was reminded of the pleasures
the S8 brings. 100, 110, 120 mph and the S8 begs for more! I feel the need for speed! The faster you drive this car the better it feels. No wonder the blind land speed record of 154mph was set with the driver blind folded behind the wheel of an S8.
