when was your last oil/oil filter change? A high quality oil along with denso iridium spark plugs, K&N, and 94 octane gas, is why I see good mpgs. These guys are dedicated Mobil 1 fans for the most part as you already know. I however, have found a new favorite in Amsoil. just my $0.02

the codes would tell you MAF, bank 1 sensor and bank 2 sensor would all have insufficient oxygen.

k&n air filter check.
good spark plugs (bosch platinum +4s) check.
tire pressure (39/34) check.
94 octane gas check (it's near $3/gallon here!).
an oil (mobil 1) and oil filter (mann) change is due in about 1k miles. thanks.

i've seen knock sensor and cylinder misfire codes last winter, and replaced the plugs, and haven't seen them recently. i've seen fuel trim system too lean codes last summer, but they were resolved with a maf replacement.
thanks.
thanks.

A) Drove to work today at or below 80 mph with no tip usage. Computer showed avg. speed of 58 and avg. mpg of 24.8.
B) If you are cruising at or below 2000 rpm you will hear a droning. It's something that I don't mind, but others may. Above 2000 rpm, it's a bit louder than normal, but hardly noticeable. The time you really hear a dramatic difference is when you use the tip and play around in the 4000 rpm range. People around you won't have a clue what they're up against! The looks on the faces of the fart piped civic drivers is priceless and more than one Porsche driver has given an approving nod or thumbs up.

i'll have to check my records, but i believe i put in the k&n air filter some time towards the end of last year, and checked it back in march (it was clean). i would be surprised if it's majorly dirty, but i'll check and clean/re-oil.

With an S8, that's where the tach sits when cruising at 63-64 mph (with a 55mph speed limit). Also, I'd be replacing the H-pipe with an X-pipe to smooth out the tone a bit.
