That was going about 65mph and using traffic like Trucks and actually hitting Neutral when coasting down hills. The A8 makes plenty of power and I found it better to chug up the hill barely on the gas, and then coast down the hill in N. On flat stretches of road, I pulsed the throttle and modulated my speed. The A8 is just overpowered for flat roads and wastes gas.

Now, I tried coasting in D but found that the trans would drag and I'd shed too much speed and I dropped below 30 mpg.

I stopped after 60 miles because it was really hot (no AC) and I didn't want to continue to stress the slushbox. Good news is 50K trans flush showed no metal shavings. Just having fun and going a topgear simulation. Gotta keep it above 30 mpg mister!
