Finaly I got one from LA and sold my A6 2.7T to get the A8
The A8 D2 is by far the slickest ride on streets (well after a view mods)
KW V1 Inox Line
Icon6 20x9.5 with 255/35-20

My first car after college was a 1985 5000s turbo. Awesome driver unitl the auto trans went out. After repeated trips back to the service shop for trans and nit picky things, I decided to go Japanese. I swore I would never buy another Audi. I drove a 89 Mazda 626 turbo for one year, too small and pedestrian, I replaced the mazda with a 1987 Sterling 825SL. Drove that for 5 years. Great car also, no problems. Then I bought a 1994 Infiniti Q45. Great Car. No problems except for maintenance. Then last December, I bought a 99 A8 4.2Q and really love it. Back to German handling and engineering.
I've always beena fan of the A8 when it came out and like the understated elegance and performance. My little sis has a 99 E430. No contest, the A8 is so much a better product.
On the weekends, I rode one of the three following for the need for speed, a 91 CBR600F2, 01 Honda RC-51, or a Yamaha 1100 V-star Custom.
Now that I hurt my back, I no longer have the motorcycles and now rely on the A8 for speed.

2000 S4 - I almost cried when trading it in. I still miss it.
1975ish 100LS - My father is so traumatized from the experience that he still shudders and shakes when he hears the word "Audi." It was by far the most unreliable car of all time.
