Default Whattya mean "we"?

"our" obsession with horsepower? "our" obsession with 0-100 times? I won't go so far as to say that you're alone in your obsession, but it's by no means universal.

If I want more performance, I'll put a couple more hundred dollars in my "new car fund". You definitely won't find me throwing down money for snake-oil con jobs. The A8 is more than fast enough for the driving I do. I can't think of a single instance where I wished I had more power. A better suspension, however ... yes.
More durable hoses, routinely. Then again, I don't have anything that I'm trying to prove to anyone but me.

Default Re: I second that "Dude". Mind your manners, or deal with the Sargeant at Arms.

You are talking something about being a gentlemen here and same time babbling about kneecaps. To me you sound like a wannabe gentlemen..... now go and find a moderator...

Default lets not get touchy...feely..shall we

The next time i say "we" i'll make sure to clarify that it does not include you specifically. People buy cars for different reasons i bought mine becaue it was when launched the fast 4 door saloon. It has nothing to do with proving anything to anyone it has to do with passion.

And if you look at my post...it clearly say "what is important to me is 0-100km/h speeds"
please read before you get your pantyhose in a bunch.

Anyways what i mean is that most aftermarket parts talk about performance measures as an increase in HP and every performance enthusiast that i know of is always trying to up their HP. Top secret has relased a Skyline with 1000Hp Audi RS6 with 505HP... and Japanese cars with smaller engines are able to produce a better acceleration and mileage wiht lower HP.

Isnt that better on our wallets

It is not just HP. Weight is very important. How many pounds each HP is responsable for accounts for acceleration. Look at a motorcycle. Low Hp very low weight and can blow the doors off of anything with doors.
The other thing is gearing. The ratio of each gear 1-5 controls how quick or fast you go.
