the A6 is '01. Shifting in tip or Full auto is different.

Should they be similar? Could something be wrong?

Default Was it good or bad?

I heard from a DE instructor that his 2000 A6 4.2 shifted better thatn my 2000 A8L, he drove my car at a DE 2 weeks ago and his A6 definately felt better and more connected. Besdies the fact that an A6 4.2 is still a couple of hundred pounds lighter. Maybe it could be easier on the trans, lends itself to a more spirited feel.

It's only 132lbs difference. The A6 has a taller final drive and probably a different software.
