1. This one has been going on for a while.
In second gear the RPM's rise from 1,000 to about 3,000 then they drop down to about 2,300 then go up smoothly. I cant figure it out. I guess first step would be to use a vag-com. Maybe I'll get one for christmas. I wouldnt know what to look for though. Any advice? with or without the vag-com.
2. I think I may know what is causing it, but what do you think. The rear over head lights do not come on when unlocking the car, or opening the back door. They used to light up. Then they used to light intermittantly. Now they dont light up at all.
Here is the weird part. When using the switch in the back the lights dont light up. When using the switch in the front to turn on all lights, the rear lights light up. Cant figure it out.
My theory, I tapped a wire in the over head light switch in the front for my radar detector. It is on a set of lights, dont know which one. Anyway I was lazy and am probably paying for it now. I should have run a wire from the fuse box, but...
One thing I thought it was cool that when I left it on it would eventually shut off. The car must shut the lights off when you leave it on. My mom needs that feature.

I just had to search for your name to get that picture. I should have just waited. Thanks again I kinda like it. using it for my winter sig.
It doesnt turn it off right away but, sometimes takes a day sometimes 6-8 hours. no rhyme or reason, but definately does it. Sometimes I leave the radar detector on and I get in the car, start it up and then the detector comes on.
I think I should unplug the detector from that source, It might be doing "bad" things. only thing I can think of.
