I think those 17mm axle bolts are going to give me nightmares.

I presoaked the bolt with PB blaster, then I spent a little while beating it up with an impact gun and then tried a massive beaker bar. It just won't budge. I actually broke the tip off my 1/2"dr impact extension using the breaker bar. On the bright side, the bolt hasn't even come close to stripping :-)
Any other ideas before I have to hand this problem over to my mechanic?

I have a 17" long 1/2" breaker bar, and a 3' pipe I slip over it when necessary. I've gone so far as to drop the car on it to break a one loose, but that was a 41mm nut that was one time use anyway.
Are you sure they aren't reverse thread? The hub nuts on my other car are left hand thread.

what kind of impact gun do you have? If you're using one of the 1/2" guns that come in a kit, that's your problem. I have an IR that I bought at Sears for around $200 when I had a similar situation.
Obviously the size of your compressor and the diameter of the hose make a huge diff too.
The only nut/bolt that I have not been able to remove is the axle bolt (not the ones your trying)
