I want to change the driver's side rear cam cover seal...
Is there any special procedures or precautions I should follow, or is it just as simple as replacing the passenger side seals. Any helpful hints? Thanks.

Same as passenger side EXCEPT......
the cam position sensor is located over the cam cover. You need to remove the position sensor to get to the cam cover. Pretty straight forward, except when reinstalling the cam position sensor you have to make sure you get it colocked correctly. Check out the timing belt procedure on Audipages and it should explain what you need to know.
