I just put a deposit on a 2000 A8L and pick it up next week. When checking it out, I noticed the grille thing that covers the driver side fog light is missing. My assumption is this is some plastic thing that snaps or screws on to the bumper valence but didn't look close.

My problem is trying to find the part especially in some parts search thing with a drop down selection of parts. There was no, "grille thing that covers fog light".

Looking for help. What exactly is it? Is it part of the fog light assembly or is it just a miscelaneous trim piece? What model years are interchangeable. Lastly and most important, any suggestions on where to look.

I also saw someone else's post and tried ECS tuning. It's not listed on their site.

It's an outer spoiler grill (snap in). On this parts list from AudiPages:

It's listed as part # 4D0853683K3FZ (drivers/left side)

The surround Part #2 is called a trim piece and left side part number is 4DO941777

I noticed that they had 2 parts listed, where mine ('01 A8)is all one piece (both sides)...grill and fog surround. Same with other facelift D2's I've seen. Do some actually have 2 seperate pieces there?

P.S. I've never even seen a 2 piece grill/surround in a photo...ever. And genuinevwaudiparts.com has no fog surround alone for sale, even with the part# (?)

I'm not surprised...every parts list I've seen shows 2 parts for ALL D2's 2000 thru 2003, but look at real US models...I've never seen a 2 piece.
