Default You and me both.....

.....until then, I think I will get a 2008 S8 next, in about 3-4 years.

They have four new nuclear power plants committed for right now, with another 10 or so that will be committed to in the next year or two.....most will be synching to the grid between 2016 and 2020.

Read: Paul's gonna get a 2008 S8 and R8 sooner than he got a 01 S8 after getting the 97 A8!!

Default You cannot put a price on safety.

Your D2 A8 is one of the safest vehicles on the planet. The 22 extra cents per gallon for premium really doesn't make that much difference. I would rather be in a safe vehicle.

Default I'll walk 3 days and drive A8 2 days... if it comes to that...

The problem is when you had something great already, it's hard to compromise.... And I'm getting 20mpg average...

Cheers,

Default No problem! Mount a .50 for the kids, and let one dog run loose to retrieve. Bushmeat!

Default I'll quit drinking beer and keep the A8 8-D...

The savings will be massive.

Default A co-worker bought one yesterday and let me take it for a spin...kinda funny little machine!

The transmission totally took me by surprise. The automatic fully manual transmission is a crack up when it shifts...hard to explain, but basically you have your foot on the gas moving ahead when the car decides to ever so slowly pull back on the throttle, engage the clutch, shift gears, and then returns to your throttle position...all in slow motion - to say it is weird would be a grave understatement!

The closest I could relate it to would be an early VW bug...it kinda sounded like one, kinda drove like one, the brake pedal felt very much like one, etc.

Funny thing was the guy was beaming that he got a fully loaded convertible one for around $19k...I'm sitting there grinning thinking, wow for roughly the same money you could be sporting an //S8...not much of a choice IMHO.
