I put my 17s back on recently and since I've had a little vibration in my steering wheel at high speed. I don't think it's alignment since the car doesn't pull and there's no abnormal tire wear. Do the wheels need balancing?

That depends. If the vibration is restricted to a range of speeds, say between 60 to 70 MPH, then it can be a balancing issue or a bent wheel (ask me how I know).
If, however, the vibration gets progressively worse as the speed increases, then it is more likely an alignment problem or a problem with the suspension/steering systems.

Although it resulted in more noise instead of vibration in the steering wheel.

https://forums.audiworld.com/a8/msgs/42789.phtml</a
