Bought a completely blank key with no transponder/remote chip inside for back up in case I locked my key in. I got it cut and it works in all the locks, but since my a8 is a facelift model it comes with a built in immobilizer. I'ved opened up both the keys and replaced every part except the top part, only the side with the Audi emblem because the little grain of rice looking transponder is on that part. Now it looks as though I have a brand new key!

Does anyone know if it's possible to get another transponder so i can place in the other key?

Just get one with the chip in it. Some locksmith or the dealer needs to code both keys at the same time.
