Default Impatience = more problems

Stupid me.. Anyway i finally got the control arm off however i think i poped a ball out of the inner CV joint. I can feel one of the berings in the boot. So i guess my only option is to impact off the 6 bolts and remove the front center bolt on the hub and take it to the shop... are there any other things i need to do to take the axle out?

Default There weren't on the A6.

Anything else besides the large bolt with the 17mm Allen head, that is.

And the A6 is pretty much identical to the A8 in the front suspension department.

Default You need a three square tool to get the axle off

Default Not offhand - I bought a 4-bit set for $12.

I'll go down and look, and see if I can tell, based on wear. That'd be for the A6, but I bet they're the same.

Default 10mm

And the screws are the same diameter on the A6 and the A8, based on ETKA

Default Sometimes referred to as the "triple square" tool...see steeringwheel link.
