Default Installing H&R's.... a little help....

Hey guys, I hate to admit it but I'm not a "turn my own wrench" kinda guy. I can clean and detail with the best ... but I probably couldn't get my way through a brake pad job. That's the bad news for me, the good news is, I live next door to a good mechanic, but he's a domestic car kinda guy and rarely works on anything as high end as our cars. He is willing to try and put my H&R's on for me. Any help you guys who might have been into the suspension before can gives us would be very helpful! I'm mainly concerned about how to access the tops of the rears but as we get into it we may have more ?'s. He's going to take a look at them here in about an hour. Thanks guys!
P.S. What I am going to do if he feels comfortable taking on the job is I'll take tons of pictures and maybe do a write up for the pages.

We'll start here soon. I've got these wide 9.5 wheel's w/ 25mm offset, I'm worried she's going to scrub. Time will tell.

What's the easiest way to get the rear spring out without taking everythng loose that would change alignment settings.

You're going to need a four wheel alignment when you're done, anyway.

to take the sway bar loose and then it came right out.

If so, would a video on youtube be better or a write up w/ pix?

Default Re: Cool. Still workin, giving us a hard time...

Found out the hard way, you HAVE to put anti-seize on the top threads of the front Coilover. We messed up the threads and had to go shopping for a 12mm 125 pitch thread die to fix it and get a new nut.

Worth a mention so far is, we have the rears on and set the car down. We didn't measure the OEM height before we put them on, but it doesn't look like the rears are lower at all, in fact, it almost looks like it's a hair higher which is weird.

More to come...

Default Re: Done! Pix inside

We'll that was a project! I'll do a write up on it but it will be a week or so for me to translate all my notes to something that makes clear sence to you guys and edit all the pictures etc.
I drove the car a short distance and it does feel much stiffer so I'm sure I'll be happy w/ the ride. The only thing I'm a little unhappy about is the rear does not look like it came down at all and for some reason it actually looks like it might have gone up some. Weird. I might call H&R and see if they have any shorter springs. I need to get a ajustment wrench for the fronts anyway.
You guys take a look at the height of the front and tell me what you think. Come up some more but leave it lower than the rear, or bring it to the same level as the rear or ...
Thanks for the help guys and off to the work week I go.

It looks like the tires are too small diameter for the car.
