Default I have an issue with....

my new instrument cluster. How does the automatic lighting (numbers) level adjustment work? Do your numbers light up when it gets dark?

Default Does yours light up during the day?

It should light up during the day and night....the schematics won't show anything for that....if it is not light up during the day....something is wrong.

Bring it back to the dealer and tell them to fix it.

Default Re: Does yours light up during the day?

It does but if I drive under a tunnel or a parking structure, it goes dark. The dealer is saying that it is supposed to do that and that my old cluster may have not worked properly.

Default They are wrong

It should light up and stay on all the time. Check out any A8 out there.....every single one of them works the same way.

So you are saying that it's normally on, but if you go into a tunnel during the day with the headlights off, the dash lights turn off? Well, that's really wrong.....

I will check the Bently and see if it has an adaptation for it.

The dealer called this afternoon and told me that hey will take the car back and fix it. They are way too busy and they will call me with a date.

Default Re: They are wrong

There is a light sensor on the bottom right side of the tech. I flashed it with the flash light and it sure works backwards.

Default Make sure you bring all of your keys in too

If you didn't give them all your keys when they put the first one in, only the key or keys that you gave them will work in the car due to the immobilizer.
