Default Insurance company problem--labor rate--help!

HI guys. Need an advice.

I recently been rearened and while not allot, there is a good amount of damage. body shop in Clair Audi gave me an estimate of about 3k. They said that they will have to charge me an 80$ rate for the labor. Claiming that a8 aluminum body requires more money to fix?

On the other hand insurance companies (my comp. and comp of the person who hit me) do not want to pay more then 35$ (my comp) and 32$/h (comp of person who hi me).
Did any of you experienced same type of abnormality?? basically there is about 10hrs of labor. That means that I will have to shell out close to 500$??

Both insurance companies, Amica and Arbella claim that they have a list of body shops that will fix the car for that amount!!

Any thoughts??

Should the comp that hit me pay any reasonable rate for the labor to be performed??

Thanks

DENNIS

Dennis-

This happened to me in January, the trunk was smashed but everything else was fine. They ended up totalling the car because of the hourly rate. In Indianapolis there is only one place that can work on these. ABout half a dozen claimed that they could but then backed down.

I think the shop wanted $70/hr and insurance would only pay $40, over 10 hours of work. I REGRET not paying the difference, that car was mint, my new one is crap.

Default Your Tow Bill will be $1.75 per mile roundtrip

That's a bit over $500. Small price to pay. Imagine trying to sell your car if the job is garbage! Bit the bullet and DO IT!
