If this turns out to be the answer to all our problems it will be incredible. I knew that somebody on this forum was going to figure out the problem eventually. Great work!! Can't wait to see where this goes.

What prep work was needed?
I assume a good cleaning of the valve body.. any sanding? How much did you use? This could be the most worthwile post on the forum since unclogging the drain path

Sanding wit a very fine sanding block with oil, just to make sure,that the surface is straight, then cleaning with alcohol and applying the sealant.
