Just got my switchblade key for cheap! Programmed succesfully from FAQ instructions.
After reading old posts on adding the switchblade remote key to the 97 A8, I went to my dealer and asked them to make the replacement key for me. They charged me $60 for the key, but also gave me a new remote! At first I told them that I have a remote already, thinking that I can get one for about $30 from ebay and just install their key. They then told me that the switchblade key only came with the remote. So they just charged me $60 instead of the $120 for the cost of the remote. Now I don't even need to hunt for a used remote!
Then using the VAG-COM, I changed the alarm to auto-lock, and open/close all windows... very nice! The switchblade key is a slick upgrade for 97 A8.
