My fuel pump burned out; then key got stuck in ignition. I had the pump replaced, which was a $4000 fiasco.
The car starts and shuts off, but the key will not come out.
A few times the shop had the key out but then got stuck, and after I drove it home from the shop it came out, and then got stuck the next time I drove it.
Audi said it would be $112 just to look at it. Does anyone know what it could be?

I can shift into any gear just fine, even Park. And I have moved the shifter back and forth a lot, but the key is still stuck.
I think the A8 has 4 key positions (off,on,accessories, start engine) and the key becomes stuck in position 1. The engine and electrical is completely off.
I did notice when I got the key out, it was because the key turned one more place counter-clockwise (position 0) and then came out.
