yes, on my car there does seem to be a switch type object on the pedal stop... 2001 S8 with E-gas

It should. Paul K with a 01 S8 reports that his car downshifts in Tip mode with WOT

Default Yes, its a VAG COM adaptation coding. I do not know of any different tranny codes for a S8 though.
