Default kudos to the list

Driving home last night the dreaded check engine light pops on.

Everything seemed fine, so I carried on home, hooked up Vag com and got the P1423 and P1411 fault code.

After reading the list for a number of months I quickly recognized these as the Lunch Meat codes.

Today I picked up $ 3.00 worth of 7/64 vacuum hose and with the help of previous posts and pics quickly found the leak and replaced all portions of the hose.

The point of all this is to thank: Paul W; Rico blanco; Skiracer; and all the other that did the trouble shooting and took the time to document the procedure, for the benefit of the rest of us.

Without Vag com and the list it would be alot harder and much more expensive to keep the S8 on the road

Thanks all

Default Sweet! Always nice to fix a car for $6. Also, keep an eye on the Evap/Purge valve. I started out

with similar issues, and then after replacing pretty much all of my vac tubing also had to end up replacing my purge valve. FYI, if it comes to that, the best place to get one is from Autohaus AZ- just look up the one for the A6 4.2 engine. Cheers!
