Reminds me of an old Chevy Nova with a jacked up rear end and fat mags, instead of a German touring sedan - just my $.02. They wheels on their own look very nice. Same rolling diameter front to rear, right ?

Yes, the rolling diameter is the same.
I am driving 245-40-18 on 9,5x18 on front and 285-35-18 on 11x18 on rear. It works perfect without rubbing in the fenders. I changed the rear springs after taking the photo because i wanted it a little lower. Now its perfect for me :-)
This picture shows my last A8 with this lower springs: <img src="http://www.colour-tuning.de/galerie/audi/images/a8003-01-gr.jpg">

However, I think I might have the same comment as April regarding the rear wheel width.
You need to get some chrome mirror caps for sure! Or better yet, S8 caps!
I like the "old A8" in your second post, still like the look of the corner marker lights on the old two piece design (99 and older) as compared to the newer style shown in your first post.
I also like the old A8 being lowered and it appears the windows may be tinted.
What year was the old A8? Was it a 4,2? If so, was it a six speed manual or automatic?
Thanks for posting!

How do you like the ride quality? I spoke with KW some time ago, and they estimated their coilovers were 20% stiffer than the H&R's. It sounds too stiff to me. What is your impression?

My last car was a A4 with H&R coilovers. They were too stiff. My wife told me to make a chance on the suspensions! Then we met Klaus Wohlfarth from KW Germany on a exhibition. He talked to me: Please try our coilover and you will get your money back, if your are not satisfied with the stiffnes.
Up from this time i will never drive any other suspension. It is great. You will get a stiff ride but without loosing to much comfort.

.
as you might expect, I have more than a few questions --
Do you happen to know the offset of those 8.5x18 front and 11x18 rear wheels? Are you also using wheel spacers? If so, do you know how thick?
Do you have much understeer running more rubber in the rear?
KW has at least three versions of coilovers,
Variant 1 -- non adjustable
Variant 2 -- rebound adjustable
Variant 3 -- bump and rebound independently adjustable
Which version are you running? Have you experimented with the adjustments?
Do you happen to know the spring rates front and rear?
Have you had your car on the track? If so, can you comment on handling with the KW and tire package?
Sorry for all the questions, but you've taken your A8 into new terriority for most (all?) of us here.
