GUESS WHAT! Njturnpike! OIL SPILL! Whos oil MINE! Aparantly Audi didnt take a good look when they worked on my engine...
So...
1. Exactly 1 year ago they left me 2 qts low on tranny fluid causing all the common problems with the tranny.. (still in legal battle)
2. Paid $2500 for head gasket which they swore it was...and i saw the leak myself.. (i still see the leak) (also replaced rear cam seals, breather hoses, oil sensor, and cam seals on the front, crank seal in the front, and oil cooler).
I am just about out of disposable money and patience for this car... ill let you know what audi says.

They never correctly complete a single repair in on trip usually took three or more. Still Have a oil leak that they have "fixed" atleast four times. Good Luck Audi does not care and the dealer cares less.

Man, I have a 97 with 93K miles and am in that "Do I spend the money for some major maintenance or do I sell it, even at a loss?" mode right now. Every time I read what has happened to you, I get scared. REAL SCARED.
All I can say is, WOW.

this is my perfect car.. it has all the features i want in a car..
1. decent Gas mileage for a V8
2. I can hold a crew of 5 confortably
3. Its actually a quick car
4. It handles nicely
5. It has AWD and will go in the snow
6. It can hold all my electornics
7. It looks really really nice
No particular order...
I was watching a movie the other day where some guy stole a German Tank (WWII movie) he was getting away then it starting pissing oil all over.. i felt his pain.

Although according to the Indy Audi list they're pretty decent as of late. Don't get me started about their Jaguar service department and what my mom has run into (empty power steering resivoir..)
Kamakazie, do you have an AoA advocate?
I'm right with you; 116k(?) (something like that) on the clock and anything major is scary on the A8. I know I have a slow, persistant oil leak and am taking care of that bit by bit, valve cover by valve cover, rear cam seal by rear cam seal, and eventually oil cooler by oil cooler. We'll get there when we get there, I feel. But the car has 113k on it, and runs pretty well. It's fast, doesn't eat too much gas and gets noticed. It's comfortable for many people. I know if the transmission goes to junk it will cost the same to import the manual six-speed (I think...) But who knows. It's still very enjoyable.
