Default Let's seperate the new A8 from the old

Can we get the list moderator to seperate the D2 Platform A8 from the new '04 A8. This is very helpful on the A6 side.

There seems to be a lot of traffic re: the new '04 A8.

Default once the excitement from it coming out is over, there probably won't be enough traffic to warrant

two forums.

IMHO, i would like to see the A8 forum stay the way it is. I am new here, never having owned an Audi before(actually I still dont own one; just waiting for mine to arrive). The posters here have been invaluable to me even though many posts deal with pre 04 A8`s. This forum is an amazing wealth of information from some pretty amazing people. In a world that seems to separate people, I have felt as though when I clicked on the "Audi icon" on my desktop I was coming home! I dont mean to be mushy about this but I would hate to see this forum dissected. Its only my opinion. Thanks!

Thought the D2 guys needed some new blood in here after being on the A6 board for three and a half years before ordering my D3. You could almost a pin drop here.

Default Top 3 reasons they should be separate forums:

Sans name, (most of the) engine and aluminum they are totally different cars.
Mindset of neu A8 owners is different than old A8 owners.
Too many posts following the journeys of cars from factory floor to dealer.
But that's just my opinion, ICBW.

Default Let's keep it together.

I think keeping the A8 forum together makes a lot of sense as well. I just looked at the ACNA forum yesterday for the first time; postings occur there once a month during busy spells. There's a great critical mass here, and I'd hate to see that diluted. I've responded to posts regarding both D2 (as a former owner) and D3 (as a current owner); I doubt that I'd track both forums if they were separated.

Default Same here

But AudiWorld will need seperate forums for the C5 (1998-2004) A6 and C6 (2005+) A6. I read on one of the AW forums (don't remember which one) that Audi will start bringing out newly intorduced, redesigned and freshened models worldwide at the same time. Would be great if true, as the new A6 is supposed to come out around October of next year.
